Biography of Jan C. Larson

Jan C. Larson joined the firm in 1987. Jan graduated from Buffalo High School in 1978, the University of Minnesota in 1982, and obtained his juris doctorate from William Mitchell College of Law in 1986. He was admitted to the Minnesota State and Federal Bars in 1986. Jan began practicing with a Minneapolis law firm before returning to his hometown of Buffalo. The son of the late Judge Carroll Larson, Jan wanted to be a lawyer since he was a young boy. He is a member of the 18th District Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar Association, American Bar Association, Minnesota Department of Health Newborn Screening Advisory Committee, Elim Care Foundation Board, Buffalo Hospital Ethics Committee, and is a mentor and an Elder at his church.

In Jan’s twenty plus years of the practice of law, he has gained substantial experience representing both individuals and business entities in the areas of Real Estate, Estate Planning/Wills and Trusts, and Business/Corporate law.

As a Real Property Law Specialist, certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association since 1994, Jan has counseled his clients through a wide variety of real estate transactions, ranging from large commercial and residential real estate developments to assisting clients with the purchase or sale of a home. In the area of Estate Planning, Jan is experienced in counseling clients with a wide range of needs, drafting complex Wills and Trusts for large estates to save estate taxes upon death, as well as planning for couples and individuals with minor children. Jan values practical, efficient, and successful results, and works diligently to achieve these goals for his clients.

In his free time, Jan enjoys skiing, camping, and spending time outdoors with his wife and two boys. He is heavily involved at his church and with the Boy Scouts.
