Biography of Julie M. Latzig

Julie M. Latzig was born and raised in Waverly, Minnesota.  She graduated from Howard Lake-Waverly High School in 1981.  She is a 1985 cum laude graduate of Winona State University, Winona, Minnesota, with a B.S. Degree in Paralegal and emphasis in Business Administration.  The WSU Paralegal Program is one of relatively few American Bar Association approved four-year Paralegal Programs in the nation.  At WSU, Julie served as president of the Association of Student Paralegals.  She also volunteered for the on-campus student paralegal mentoring program. 

Julie subsequently completed her Paralegal Internship at the Minneapolis law firm of Meagher & Geer, where she ultimately worked for nearly 20 years as a Litigation Paralegal specializing in insurance defense, products liability, aviation litigation, personal injury, employment law, medical malpractice and general health care issues.  She has had the opportunity to present at several Paralegal seminars throughout the years and served on the Board for the Minnesota Paralegal Association. 

In 2003, Julie joined Johnson, Larson, Peterson & Matt, P.A. as a Senior Paralegal.  She presently works closely with the firm’s attorneys in the areas of collections, criminal law, construction law, employment law, family law, guardianships and conservatorships, litigation, personal injury, probate and estate administration, and real estate law.  She prides herself in concentrating on details and keeping clients well- informed throughout the handling of their cases. 

In her free time, Julie has volunteered for the Buffalo Adult Basic Education Program, a local literacy program, tutoring adults in reading skills.  She is involved in her church and its youth programs and mission trips.  She also enjoys traveling, swimming, biking, hiking, and spending time with her husband, daughter and son.
